COURSE DESCRIPTION

Radiodetection CAT4 & Genny Training This course is ideal for General builders, Groundworkers, Civil Engineers, Utility Gangs in fact anyone who plans on digging or needs to identify & locate Utilities. This training course aimed at personnel involved in excavations where there is a likelihood of buried services. The aim of the course is to train selected personnel in the skills and knowledge required to achieve competence in carrying out location surveys before and during excavation. This Course will run in conjunction with HSG47 guidelines. • Delegates will complete the theory module in a classroom setting. • Their performance will then be assessed during an outdoor practical session. • Finally delegates will take an in -house exam. Course Content: • Features and Functions of Radio Detections CAT4 range. • Including, All modes, Strike Alert, Calsafe, Data Logging, Sensitivity control & Importance of calibration. • What to check during a function test with the CAT4 & Genny4 • Using the Genny4 Signal Generator with the CAT to maximise its effectiveness. • Features and Functions of Accessories inc. Flexitrace and Clamps. • Common types of cables & how best to locate them. • Dangers of Gas pipelines and how to identify them. • Practical Use of Locators, Signal Generators and Accessories, Using Depth estimation. Prerequisites: • None Required. Duration: Course Commences 08.00am - 12.30/13.00pm Capacity: Maximum of 8 delegates. Cost: • From £156+VAT. Accreditation: A certificate of competency will be issued to all delegates who successfully complete all elements of the course. Expiry of Accreditation: The In-house certificate is valid for 3 years after which reassessment is recommended.
